Telefónica is one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies by market cap. Its activities are centred mainly on the fixed and mobile telephony businesses, while its broadband business is the key growth driver underpinning both. It operates in 24 countries and its customer base exceeds 260 million globally. Telefónica’s growth strategy is focused on the markets in which it has a strong foothold: Spain, Europe and Latin America. Telefónica is a 100% private company, with more than 1,5 million direct shareholders.

Objective

The purpose of this turnkey project for Telefonica was to homogenize and provide with common contents to all the countries where MoviStar is present in Latin-America (excluding Brazil). Altogether the Master Content Provider's (MSCP) purpose is to maximize the revenue from mobile content in the region, through an easy and unified management which until then was in the hands of several providers. Also to rationalize the Wap portals improving user experience, with an easier interface to find contents. Finally to set up standard KPI that will improve the marketing and drive sales.

Zed Solution

Since 2008 Zed manages its own mobile content (images, games and video/ TV) and from third parties for Movistar's customers in 12 Latin-American countries, including on-deck, content, sales channels, licenses, CRM and marketing tools.

Results

This has improved the content available, meaning that now contents are defined according to customers’ needs and not to providers, improving downloading of content and revenues.
